What We Believe Concerning the Godhead:
One God Who Exists as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit:
We believe the Bible teaches that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons. There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all life. These three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections. Their eternal relationship is incapable of being investigated, analyzed, or scrutinized by man. Their relationship is not easily understood and is mysterious yet there is no priority or superiority among the three persons. Each person of the Godhead is equally worthy of the same homage, worship, confidence, and obedience. God is intelligent, spiritual, and personal. God is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections and is immutable or unchanging. God is always true and cannot lie, fail in anyway, nor is slack concerning His promises. God is all powerful, all knowing, all present, and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.
1. God the Father is the sender of the Word (Logos) and the Begetter.
2. God the Father reigns with favor, grace, and care over the universe, His creatures, and human history.
3. God is Father to all who are birthed into His family through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
4. God the Son (our Lord Jesus Christ), is the Word flesh-covered, the One Begotten, and has existed with the Father from the beginning.
5. The Person of the Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and Son and is eternal.
6. In the New Testament, time and time again we see the expression of God the Father, God the Son also known as “Jesus the Son of God” and God the Holy Spirit.
7. God as Father, Jesus as Son, and the Holy Spirit are in complete unity. All are a part of creation and vital to the salvation of the cosmos with specific functions.
8. God as Father is the master architect of the entire plan of creation.
9. Jesus is the expression of God’s bridge between Himself and man.
10. The Person of the Holy Spirit is the Revealer of Truth and serves as a down payment for salvation for eternity.
11. God is in Jesus and Jesus is in God with the Holy Spirit as the Divine Interpreter. They are equal in purpose, equal in power, and equal in authority; completely and totally unified.
12. Therefore, we conclude that there is one God manifest in three persons and each being co-equal.
